Encore! More Toronto!

Please scroll down for the English version

This is my sister Araceli's house in Toronto. It is one of her illustrations. She has always been very creative and very productive! She has great "time management" skills that I lack, actually, this is a trait both my sisters have, they are very organized whilst I am anything but organized... So while Araceli lives in a "Creative Valhalla" I live my own personal kid's toys Valhalla (they are everywhere!).

The week I spent in Canada I caught up with Araceli's creative projects. She is always working on three or four things at the same time, often, of very different genre that can range from patchwork to Pysanky. Lately she has been concentrating more on illustration and ceramics, and while I was there she would take her notebook and pencils everywhere with her to "capture the moment". And I, fortunate sister that I am, has brought back with me a cylinder full of her "captured moments". Sis, how I miss our conversations on art, inspiration and that great Canadian discovery, Poutine! (Poutine is a typical Canadian dish, it consists of fries topped with lots of gravy and melted cheese. It looks a bit gross but tastes delicious!

You can visit my sister's blog here.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Introducing Alanna Cavannagh

Please scroll down for the English Version

I adore vintage Penguin Books (the ones with the vintage orange covers), the novels are the kind I like (I own very few of them though, my dream is to have the complete works of Evelyn Waugh in "the Penguin orange format"). Also, aesthetically , I find them very pleasing. So, when I discovered Allanna Cavanagh's work, I was totally smitten.

Me tienen enamorada.

This Canadian illustrator makes divine prints and illustrations, but what really caught my attention where her Penguin Books Prints. It is incredible how great they look! In fact, I think I am in love with them!

In here you can see how they look once they are framed and displayed on the wall. The photo is from her actual living room. Doesn't it look great? I also recommend her blog, I read it all the time, it is delightful.

You can find out more about her and her work in her web and, of course, in her blog.

Feliz Lunes! Have a Happy Monday!
