Dedicated to my Sisters - Para mis Hermanas con Amor

Please scroll down for the English version

Feliz Jueves casi Viernes!

See the trousers in the photo? (they are from Zara by the way). I have always been a fan of that type of pants and worn them during years but I had to stop wearing them because my two sisters used to pick on me and say things like "oh, it looks like if you are wearing Henry VIII's pants" or "you have stolen MC Hammers pants". So today, I would like to say something to the both of them:

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! They are fashionable and the latest trend! I was a visionary and you were not! Ha! But I forgive you, no hard feelings, after all, us fashion divas are used to all kinds of criticism ;-) Big kiss for you lovelies.

Have a lovely Thursday nearly Friday!

Still Romantic - Seguimos Románticas

Photo Martha Stewart Blog

Besos y Feliz Finde!!!

I am still immersed in the Saint Valentine week. I think I am one of the few people in Spain who likes to celebrate it. I love the idea of dressing up, wearing a lovely dress and go out for dinner with my husband, just the two of us.

What I do not like so much, is all the materialistic entourage that surrounds it all (although if my husband had presented me with one of those antique jewels I like so much I would have accepted it quite happily!). So, from a few years back, our St Valentine’s gifts are home made, and of course, I make with all my love.

I always bake a carrot cake which is his favourite cake. My carrot cake is quite delicious, I do not mean to boast here, there are many dishes at which I excel little or not at all but, in the carrot cake department, I can honestly say that I am the unparalleled Spanish Carrot Cake queen. So, I make a delicious but aesthetically very unattractive cake and certainly, not romantic at all.

So; when I saw these lovely wrapped cakes in the Martha Stewart blog I was totally smitten. I can not gift wrap the cake this year (we have already eaten it all), but next year, I am going to make the most romantic cake ever!

Should you want to learn how to make the heart gift wrap, you can find the complete tutorial here. (I forgot to mention it, but Martha's Crafts Department blog has been quite a discovery!).

Have a lovely weekend.

This Weekend...

Feliz Martes!

This weekend we went to my hometown of Logroño to attend a wedding. Apart from being with the radiant bride and groom, I have also had the chance to be with my lovely family and to catch up with some very dear friends, some of which, I had not seen in years.

We have talked a lot, walked a lot (we enjoyed some very amazing weather!), laughed a lot and eaten lots and lots and lots! (I hereby declare myself a staunch fan of the tapas bars at Calle Laurel - in Logroño and other towns of the North of Spain, we call tapas pinchos).
Did you also have a lovely weekend?

Have a Happy Tuesday!

My Life in Pictures - Mi Vida en Imágenes

Feliz Jueves!

Baby has started eating fruits and vegies (fiber, lots of fiber). He is also teething (drool, a lot of "radioactive" drool which he swallows and makes his little bottom look... radioactive?). So, yes, I very much can relate to this poster.

It amazes me just how much these keep calm posters have evolved since I first found them.

Have a Happy Thursday!

FELIZ NAVIDAD

(Lc 2, 9-12)

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. “This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” (Lc 2, 9-12)
¡Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas!
